The survey has been published annually since 1992 by The Quorum Group and provides Texas businesses timely and accurate wage and salary data for selected positions throughout the state.

In 2007, one hundred twenty four (124) organizations provided wage and salary data on 200 positions throughout the state covering more than 45,200 employees. 3,333 positions were matched by participating companies. Data was collected as of May 1, 2007.
New for 2007 is compensation data on Commissioned Sales personnel.
Data is summarized and compared for three separate regions (Upper Gulf Coast, Dallas/Fort Worth, East/Central/West) and for the State.
Survey Benefits:
- Reliable and timely wage and salary and benefit information;
- Comprehensive analysis regarding external competitiveness;
- Assistance in diagnosing current and potential internal equity issues;
- Accurately compare wages/salaries to the pay practices of other companies in the area;
- Implement and effectively monitor "geographical" pay differentials; and
- Develop, implement and monitor an over-all pay policy that supports the corporate strategy.
The Texas Compensation Survey Report Contains:
Regional results are summarized in one report for:
- Upper Gulf Coast - the gulf coast area of Houston, Beaumont and Galveston.
- Dallas/Fort Worth - the DFW Metroplex.
- East/Central/West:
- East Texas - the geographical area east of Dallas and north of Houston.
- West Texas - the geographical area west of Fort Worth and west of the Central Region.
- Central Texas - the geographical area along the I-35 corridor from south of the DFW Metroplex to the Rio Grande Valley and including the lower Gulf Coast.

All Data is contained in a single CD-ROM disc. Summary data is presented in a printed report.
The Survey report shows the lowest, average, highest, median and employee weighted pay practices for each survey position as well as the 25th and 75 percentiles. Salary range information is also reported for each position along with the number of collective bargaining units, the number of companies that pay bonuses/incentives and the average bonus/incentive paid.
Pay practices are also summarized for each position based upon company size and geographical location.
The Survey provides a comparison of the average pay practice for each position from each region to that of the State average - i.e., geographical pay differences for each position.
Salary administration practices reported include types of salary increases, method of distributing increases, last and next merit budgets, the prevalence of various reward systems, shift differential and paid time off.

The Texas Benefits Survey
The Texas Benefits Survey provides important information regarding the eligibility requirements to participate, the cost sharing arrangements, and the level of benefits provided.
